The players from the Barça Academy Katsushika, the winning team from the Under-13 Barça Academy APAC Cup, got to meet the mayor of their city, Katsunori Aoki, at a special reception held to celebrate the title they won this past January in Delhi, India.
During the event, the city’s top official opened his speech by congratulating the players who won the first edition of the Asia Pacific tournament, and explained the experiences of the players and their coach, Ryosuke Aoki, as well as the Barça Academy Katsushika Local Project Director, Andreu Cerarols. Barça Academy Katsushika partner, Masayoshi Akimoto, was the last to speak.
The formal part of the event was followed by a photo session for the players and authorities in attendance. Gifts were exchanged between the Barça Academy and the City Council. Also in attendance were Katsuhika’s head of Education, Yuichi Shiozawa, and Katsuhika’s general head Yoshinori Deguchi.
The players who formed part of the championship-winning team are Hiroki Makino, Motonari Ito, Toki Hosaka, Shota Komoda, Taichi Aida, Ashton Shun, Hiroki Nagasawa, Daisuke Inagaki, Mahiro Okazaki, Ruki Yoneya, Momoka Asanuma, and Hanako Inagaki.
